Concert Choir

Concert Choir is open to all students on campus through a simple audition. This choir typically performs concerts each semester, including annual regional tours and international tours every four years. The Concert Choir was founded in 1959 and has kept alive the tradition of singing the Lutkin Benediction at the end of concerts for more than sixty years.  

Chamber Choir

Chamber Choir is the premiere choral ensemble open to all students through audition. This choir typically performs one to two concerts per semester, including regional, national and international tours in a three-year rotating cycle.                                                                          

High School Choral Festival

The annual E&H Invitational Choral Festival hosts three to five regional high school choirs for joint rehearsals, clinics, workshops, and performances with a nationally-renowned guest clinician. Participation in this festival is through an invitation from the Director of Choral Activities, Natalie Shaffer. It is identified as a strong contribution to the choral arts in the Southwest Virginia region. The festival performance is held in the  Woodrow W. McGlothlin Center for the Arts on the Emory & Henry’s historic campus in Emory, Va.
