Community Engagement

In conjunction with the Appalachian Center for Civic Life, sociology majors design and implement projects in the local community that address problems through applied research.


Our majors develop valuable work experience while serving a variety of non-profit and government agencies.

Undergraduate research

The foundation of the sociology degree is research, and our students are known for excellent projects they go on to present at regional and national conferences.
