Emery Laethem to attend law school
Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.
Emery Laethem, from Chapel Hill, N.C., will graduate in May 2021 with a degree in Philosophy and Political Science.
“Emory & Henry had prepared me for the real world by challenging me to think outside of the box and think critically about problems in life,” says Laethem. “The rigor of my classes has prepared me to work hard and excel no matter where I end up, and the variety of classes and experiences I’ve had helped me better understand the world around me.”
While on campus, Laethem was a member of Zeta Phi Social Sorority and a part of the Honors Program.
“One faculty member who has been important to me during my time in college is Dr. Krystin Krause in the Political Science department,” says Laethem. “I had political science classes with her both semesters my first year and she always made our topics of discussion interesting and engaging. Those classes were part of the reason I pursued Political Science as I considered other paths. The past year especially she has been understanding and supportive of her students, even as we miss out on seeing everyone in person.”
After graduation, Laethem plans to attend law school.
