Megan Mitten to finish master’s degree at Emory & Henry
Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.
Megan Mitten, from Harding, Pa., will graduate in May 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in Music Education.
“Emory & Henry gave me authentic real world experiences,” says Mitten. “As a student I have had the opportunity to observe many phenomenal music teachers, and I was able to teach some great students during my Practicum placement.”
During her time on campus, Mitten was involved in Zeta Phi Social Sorority, the Marching and Symphonic Bands, Spiritual Life; and served as vice president of Risk Reduction for Greek Council, Resident Advisor and Head Resident Advisor, Phi Eta Sigma & Gamma Sigma Alpha honor societies, and vice president for the Emory Activities Board.
“My advisor, Dr. Withers, is truly a super woman,” says Mitten. “She always encourages her students to be inquisitive and think critically, and she supports us as we learn and grow. I have also experienced wonderful support from all of the art department professors and have learned an incredible amount from all of them.”
After graduation, Mitten will finish her master’s of education degree at Emory & Henry and hopes to begin teaching music.
