Kanin Clark spent this summer interning in Washington D.C.

Clark is majoring in Mass Communications and History and will graduate in December 2021.

Over the summer, Clark interned with the White House Historical Association, a private nonprofit educational organization with a mission to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the Executive Mansion. The organization was founded by First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy in 1961.

“This internship has combined the best of both worlds in maintaining a refined public image while utilizing the research and storytelling aspects of history,” says Clark. “A variety of classes at E&H has prepared me to be as well-rounded as possible without being confined to one particular corner.”

Clark curated content for their social media accounts, as well as other administrative work such as correspondences, gifts, and invitations to governing board members. He also worked on the annual Jacqueline B. Kennedy luncheon.

“My internship has prepared me in more ways than I can imagine now,” says Clark. “It is only when I begin to work post-graduation that I will fully appreciate everything I’m learning currently.”

Clark plans to move to Washington D.C. after graduation.
