William King Museum of Art Hosts Exhibit Curated by Emory & Henry Student

Emory & Henry College studio art student Lorin Zehr, ’22, of Holly Pond, Ala. curated an exhibit of student art at the William King Museum of Art that will be on display at the museum until May 9, 2022.

The William King Museum of Art in Abingdon, Va. began hosting the exhibit “Where Do You Go?” on March 10, 2022 featuring artwork from seven Emory & Henry students curated by Zehr. Six of the students whose art is being exhibited are Mary Chura, ’22, of Cleveland, Ohio; Joshua Levy, ’23, of Saint Paul, Va.; Tristan Miller, ’24, of Wise, Va.; Tara Sanders, ’22, of Rocky Mount, Va.; Sarah Thomas, ’23, of Glade Spring, Va.; and Tommy Tomlin, ’23, of Lynchburg, Va.

“As a young artist I am extremely excited and honored to have my art featured in the William King Museum of Art,” said Chura, whose painting “Rocks and Caves” will be on display in the exhibit.

The exhibit curated by Zehr contains 16 pieces by the seven student artists. “As the curator, I am extremely proud of the students that submitted their work to this exhibit,” said Zehr. “They did amazing work and the exhibit looks beautiful!”

Monday: Wednesday 10 a.m.-5 p.m.

Thursday: 10 a.m. -8 p.m.

Friday: Saturday 10 a.m. -5 p.m.

Sunday: 1-5 p.m.

Admission is free and open to the public.
