Emory & Henry College Receives First Enrolled Student for Fall 2023 Enrollment in Record Time

Before she enters her senior year of high school, Natalie Ross of Buckhead, Georgia has already made her enrollment deposit and will be attending Emory & Henry College as a first-year student in the fall of 2023. This sets a deposit record for the 186-year-old institution, receiving a deposit just six days after the online application became available on July 1, 2022.

“We had quite a buzz going in the office the minute we learned of her acceptance and deposit being made in less than a week of the E&H application for next fall going live,” said Jennifer Pearce, VP for Enrollment and External Affairs. “We’re still seeing students enroll for classes starting August 15, 2022 and we are just elated to see her commitment to Emory & Henry and its equestrian program so early in the process!”

Natalie was currently in the area taking part in the third equestrian camp offered this summer at the Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College facility off I-81 at Exit 10 in Bristol. She also was a participant last year. “I was looking for riding programs, and found Emory & Henry,” she said. “I came to camp in the summer of 2021 and instantly fell in love. The horses are the absolute best, and the coaches are so amazing and constructive.”

She added she is looking forward to riding and beginning the path to her future career in Physical Therapy once she arrives back in a year. “The E&H community was absolutely amazing and from the first time I stepped on campus, I knew I was home.”

Emory & Henry’s equestrian program secured its 22nd National Championship title this year, defending their 2019 IHSA National Championship title in April 2022. The program has seen continued success and growth, and announced plans earlier this year for a new equestrian facility to be built off exit 26 near the Emory campus off of I-81.
