Posted December 15, 2023

Emory & Henry welcomed 1,105 students and unveiled University Apartments, adding 96 beds in fall 2023. President John W. Wells highlighted the need for innovative housing solutions due to record-breaking on-campus residency. The modern apartments, situated along Hillman Highway on a 10-acre property, offer a more independent lifestyle, boasting functional spaces like two-bed, two-bath units with open kitchens, walk-in closets, and private balconies. Dean of Students Fred George emphasized the inviting outdoor spaces, while future plans envision additional units and amenities such as a clubhouse and pool, aligning with contemporary preferences. The three-story complex, constructed by BurWil Construction, complements the existing campus residences and marks a step toward meeting evolving housing demands.

The purpose of the semester-long interaction was to discover how key operations decisions on process, quality, capacity, and inventory were implemented. Students examined their choices on how to improve effectiveness, efficiency, customer satisfaction, and value and presented their findings at the end of the semester.
