Dining Accommodations - Emory Campus
Emory & Henry University dining services offer a wide range of dietary options and are able to provide food choices tailored to most individual needs. Please review the Campus Dining Nutrition and Food Allergy website here for more information.
Please note that all residential students are required to purchase a meal plan. An exemption from the meal plan can be implemented only due to disability-related inability to reasonably make use of on-campus dining options.
If a student feels that our campus Dining Services are unable to adequately meet their dietary needs, they should follow the process below to address their concerns:
- Student should first reach out to Dean of Students, Fred George; and our Dining Services team, Sam Walker and Dave Brinegar to request a meeting to discuss their situation. They can also contact our campus Dietician, Rachel Sanders, to discuss possible solutions.
- If it is determined in the meeting that a meal plan modification/exemption is appropriate, they will direct the student to Amanda Fenner, Accessibility Coordinator, so they can complete the process of registering for an official accommodation. The student will be required to submit the appropriate documentation from their healthcare provider before approval will be considered.
- The deadlines for submitting these requests follow our Housing Accommodation deadline schedule. For the upcoming Spring semester, requests should be made by October 15th. For the fall semester for current students, requests should be made by February 15th. For incoming/transfer students for the fall semester, requests should be made by May 15th.
- Requests placed after these deadlines will be considered on a case-by-case basis but there are no guarantees that it will be granted that semester.
