Charlie Quillin

Veteran Services Coordinator Admissions

The Veterans Services Coordinator works closely with the Department of Veterans Affairs to ensure Emory & Henry veterans, military students, and dependents receive appropriate GI Bill, Yellow Ribbon, and Dependent’s Educational Assistance Program benefits. In collaboration with the Offices of Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, and Career Services, he sees that all are connected to the resources necessary for a successful transition to and through their course of study at Emory & Henry College.

A native of Scott County, Virginia, Dr. Quillin retired from the United States Air Force in 1995 as a Colonel with 25 years of service. He was an instructor and fighter pilot and served as a Professor of Aerospace Studies at Duke University. Following his Air Force career, he was the Dean of Institutional Advancement and Senior Development Officer at Emory & Henry College. In the Pentagon, he was the Director of Operations for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) under the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs and Chief of Staff for Defense Personnel and Family Support Center under the DoD Defense Human Resource Activity. As a volunteer, he served as the Executive Director and State Chair of the Virginia Committee for ESGR.
