Maria Ramos
I am a Maria Ramos. I am a first generation high school and college graduate. Everything that I am and have I owe to God, my late father, my husband, and my community.
I started wrestling in eighth grade after a boy told me I could not because I was a girl. Five years later, I wrestled my last high school match in the Virginia state finals. After falling short of victory, I realized I was not ready to give up wrestling. I found my calling at one of the best women’s wrestling programs in the country, Campbellsville University. I wrestled all four years at 109 and 116. My team won the WCWA Women’s National Duals Championship in 2018. After graduating I became an assistant wrestling coach at Chilhowie High School. I have aided in coaching since I was in high school but I am excited to have my own team to watch accomplish their goals.
Education:
Graduated from Chilhowie High School in 2015.
Graduated from Campbellsville University with a degree in Spanish Education in 2019.
