I am a Music major and Visual Communications minor here at Emory & Henry and have had the pleasure of being a Radio Station intern, as well as a student employee for a year now. The radio station has had a tremendous impact on my life. I originally wanted to serve as an intern to have some experience in audio engineering which is the field I’m going into for Grad School, but aside from experience, I’ve loved working in the radio station because it is full of inspired and passionate people who are fun to be around and are full of knowledge that go into show development and station experience. WEHC has given me ample opportunity to fill my professional portfolio which will be crucial for Grad School applications. </p></div>

I began working at WEHC as a quiet freshman and have since taken on various roles at the station, including copywriting, hosting, programming, and interviewing. Working at WEHC has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life because it transformed me from someone who hated hearing her own voice to a confident reporter and host, something I never thought I was capable of doing. The sense of community that the station welcomed me with two years ago has helped shape me into an self-assured personality both on and off the air, and it is one that I will carry with me long after graduation. I currently host “Up Late With Cait” and am the lead anchor for the “Area Code 276 News.” </p></div>

I transferred here from Massachusetts in the spring of 2023 to get hands-on experience at WEHC. I’ve been working at WEHC for a year and a half and I can truly say it has been one of the most satisfying work experiences that I’ve had. One of the things I like about working at WEHC is being able to create content for so many people to listen to and enjoy on a regular basis. I host “In The Grooves,” a show that celebrates traditional music and airs Wednesdays at 9pm. I also assist with news programming for our weekly “Area Code 276 News” broadcast. My hope is to pursue a career in broadcasting, and WEHC is preparing me to do that.  </p></div>

After finding the radio station two years ago, I decided to take advantage of the opportunity to get involved. I now host “The Grab Bag” Tuesdays at 2pm. After learning how the radio station worked and working closely with Leigh Anne and Ivy, I realized the radio station allows students to flourish in their own ideas and creations. I have even been able to branch out into interviews with up-and-coming Americana artists and will be completing an internship this summer. WEHC has done so much for me and I hope you consider donating to something as special as this.  </p></div>
