WEHC proudly plays an eclectic blend of music to suit our listeners. We feature local artists from the surrounding area as well as multiple other classic genres such as blues, bluegrass, classical, americana, classic rock, and more! WEHC also features a variety of talk shows that are both intellectual and informative.

Appalachian Vibes: Friday 2pm/Monday 9pm
Appalachian Vibes is a radio show and podcast from WNCW, created by Amanda Bocchi, dedicated to challenging the expectations and celebrating the diversity of music, art and ideas created in and around the Appalachian region.
Airing every Friday at 2 p.m. on WEHC and WISE-FM. The podcast is live every Monday on every podcasting platform. Appalachian Vibes is in it’s third season. Appalachian Vibes is listener nominated, you can nominate an artist that inspires you in the form below.

Have you got a case of the Monday Blues? Look no further as Host Bill McKee tries to help you chase those blues away. You will hear everything from Etta James and Blind Willie Jackson to Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears. He has Robert Johnson, Howlin’ Wolf, Buddy Guy, Joe Bonamassa, Clapton, King, and Waters and much more!

Celtic Clanjamphry: Sunday 4pm
Hosted by Jack Beck, Celtic Clanjamphry offers a broad range of Celtic and Celtic-influenced music ranging from traditional tunes to modern songs with traditional backgrounds. That mix is part of our Appalachian roots, and ties us to people and places ranging from France and Spain, to Ireland, Scotland and Bob Dylan.

Hosted by Craig Thompson, Hobo Stew is a show that plays anything worth listening to and leaves no rock unturned to satisfy your musical appetite. The shows free-wheeling nature spans different genres and styles from all over the world and throughout history.

In The Grooves: Wednesday 9pm
In The Grooves-Find the great music that is hidden in the grooves. Join Jackson Tattam as he plays American traditional, blues, jazz, French, Cajun and gospel music as it was preserved on the phonograph records of the 1920s and 30s, Wednesday at 11 p.m.
Jackson Tattam is a transfer junior studying media and communications. His great passion in life is American traditional music, including early country, blues, French Cajun and jazz. He’s been collecting such music for about 15 years as it was recorded on the old phonograph records of the 1920s and 30s and he is learning audio restoration.A lot of work goes on behind the scenes, the mics, and the boards to produce the local programming you enjoy on WEHC and WISE-FM. It takes the dedication of staff, community volunteers and E&H students who work at the station. Ivy Shepperd-General Manager and Leigh Anne Hunter- Assistant Manager, are excited and proud to bring our hardworking students up to the forefront for a new feature in our schedule, an hour of purely student made content, weekdays at 11 p.m. These are their shows… Together, WE are the Voice of Southwest Virginia.

Infinite Highway: Monday 8pm/Friday 10pm
Keith Weiss is the host of “Infinite Highway” on WEHC 90.7 FM. Keith has been involved in broadcasting since high school. The school district where Keith attended high school in South Florida, has its own 3,000 watt FM radio station, WKPX. He gained valuable experience at a young age while hosting a radio show and news updates for the station. During his college years, Keith worked part-time in a variety of capacities at radio stations in Tampa, Miami and Sanford, Florida. After college, he pursued a career in broadcast journalism, which now spans more than 25 years. Keith has worked at television newsrooms in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Louisiana and the Tri-Cities. He has worked as the News Director for News 5 WCYB and Fox Tri-Cities since November, 2015. Keith has a passion for motorsports and is happy to call the Tri-Cities region, home! He is looking forward to presenting a wide variety of rhythm, roots and new discoveries from the world of music to listeners each week.

Martha Bassett Show: Sunday 6pm/Wednesday 11pm
The Martha Bassett Show is produced in collaboration with WFDD in Winston-Salem, NC and is recorded live at the historic Reeves Theater in Elkin, NC. This weekly one-hour music program blends the best of the national Roots and Americana scene with the rich artistry, history, and flair of North Carolina’s Piedmont region.
Helmed by one of the state’s most distinguished musicians, this live show is launching its 6th season and features national artists, fresh local faces, and the music of Martha Bassett.
Each show is a collaboration in song and conversation between Martha, her band, and the guests. Past artists have included Mollie O’Brien, Presley Barker, Ben Sollee, Jonathan Byrd, Amythyst Kiah, Jim White, Elizabeth Cook, Sam Baker, Will Kimbrough, Alasdair Fraser & Natalie Haas, and Gaelynn Lea.
You’ll hear the songs of folks you know and meet new artists who will life your hearts and fill your playlists. It’s good music for good people!

Music from Foggy Hollow: Sunday 10pm
Host, Michael Kear plays the latest bluegrass, newgrass and acoustic country music from Australia and overseas. He frequently features a new album each week, playing 4 - 8 tracks off the album during the show and often has interviews with bluegrass personalities or artists.
Mike welcomes listener requests and comments. You can call the show on (02) 45 899 899 and request tunes, or comment about what you are hearing. He loves hearing from listeners - it helps get through the long early morning hours. The landscape of the Americana music scene is constantly changing and we are here to help you keep an eye on it! Brothers and sisters, music history buffs, song catchers, old heads, new heads, dead heads and fans of American Roots and beyond, this one’s for you! Steal Your Song, hosted by Leigh Anne Hunter, is the show dedicated to Grateful Dead song interpretations AND the original sources. After all, back in 1967, Jerry Garcia said of the band, “We’re clever thieves, steal from a lot of places, and rearrange…We’ve been getting into stealing classical licks, anything we hear!” Tune in, as we listen to Grateful Dead AND dig into the musicians that inspired them.

Brandon Cox is a junior, majoring in Media and Communications with a minor in Sports Management. He has been a student employee of WEHC for 2 years and says, “I’ve learned many radio skills over the time and I love being at the station and being around the team we have. Join host, Bill McKee, on the Road Unknown each week here on WEHC 90.7 FM, as he weaves together music from different decades, genres and subjects to bring you music you like to hear. Sometimes mixing love, war, social conscious and the welfare of children. Other times he dips his toes into the history of music, blues, Motown or other turns down the road unknown. His focus is to always bring you music you want to hear, and hear more of.
Occasionally Bill features an interview with a particular band, musician, songwriter and artist, complete with some of their great music. -

David Winship grew up with folk, protest, country, and 60’s and 70’s rock and roll music. He has kept his vinyl record collection together over the years and has a story to go with every album. On Vinyl Reflections he will share his selections from several records and give their history as he remembers them.

Women on Air: Wednesday 3pm/Friday 6pm
Hosted by Susan Lachman, Women on Air is a radio program that focuses on music for women, by women. Women’s music, at its birth, was largely rooted in folk music. Although these roots still influence contemporary women artists, the genre has become much more diverse over the years. Tune in to get a grasp on the music scene provided solely by women.
